Memories of Mali

This song was very popular in Mali when I first arrived as a Peace Corps trainee. It brings back great memories.

India pictures

And finally, the bulk of this trip was spent in India. I was with a group of other university admissions/recruitment professionals and we were guests at various college fairs, school visits, et al.

On my first day in the country, I had probably the only day of free time I would experience in the entire 17 day trip. I got a car and driver and set out to see a little of Delhi, the capital city.

This is Humayan's Tomb, apparently the forerunner of the Taj Mahal. Definitely you can see the similarity in architecture. I spent a very relaxing Sunday afternoon here.

Also in Delhi...

The Red Fort

The India Gate

Me and Bindu on our first night train ride from Jaipur to Bhopal. Sleepers in first class. Although the train wasn't too bad, the platform was quite an experience.

This is the historic site of Sanchi http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sanchi. We visited while in Bhopal (which you may remember as being famous for chemical spill in 1984).

Photos from my stay in Bangkok

On the same trip, I spent about 2 days in Bangkok, Thailand. I didn't get to do a lot of sightseeing, but I was lucky enough to have a chance to visit the King's palace and temple. I also stayed in a really nice hotel, The Conrad. One of these days, I'd like to go back when I have more time.

Some of my pics from Tokyo

Recently, I was in Tokyo on a business trip. I stayed for a week and had a very nice time in between meetings. Here are a few of the photos I took.

My first post

This is a bit of an experiment for me. I'm going to play around a little and see if I like the way this works or not.
